Holotype: NRM 41017. Paratypes: NRM 40708 (4), 40977 (9), 41015 (5); UMMZ 248754 (2). •Valid as Mystus cineraceus Ng & Kottelat 2009 -- (Darshan et al. 2011:2177 [ref. 31641], Ng & Pethiyagoda 2013:168 [ref. 33011], Kottelat 2013:262 [ref. 32989], Ng & Kottelat 2023:987 [ref. 40577]). Current status: Valid as Mystus cineraceus Ng & Kottelat 2009. Bagridae. Distribution: South Asia: middle Irrawaddy River drainage, northern Myanmar. Habitat: freshwater.
