R.] 2009:32, Fig. 1, 2(A), 3-6 [Smithiana, Publications in Aquatic Biodiversity, Bulletin v. 10; ref. 30538] Reef off Pumula (Near Hibberdene), 30°35.40'S, 30°38.110'E, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, southwestern Indian Ocean, depth 57 meters. Holotype: SAIAB 81385. Paratypes: BPBM 40931 (1), SAIAB 81386 (1). Plus non-types at SAIAB and photographed specimens. •Valid as Parupeneus fraserorum Randall & King 2009 -- (Randall & Heemstra 2009:40 [ref. 30542], Uiblein et al. 2017:558 [ref. 35672], Fricke et al. 2018:226 [ref. 35805], Uiblein et al. 2018:237 [ref. 36192], Echreshavi et al. 2022:9 [ref. 39234], Uiblein & Randall 2022:361 [ref. 39855]). Current status: Valid as Parupeneus fraserorum Randall & King 2009. Mullidae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) and southern Mozambique to southeastern Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
