L.] & Albert [J.] 2009:580, Figs. 1-2 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 7 (no. 4); ref. 30673] Quebrada Dos y medio, a small terra firme stream about 2 kilometers northwest of the town of Breu, on the Alto Yuruá River, 9°31.155'S, 72°45.755'W, Dept. Ucayali, Peru, elevation 271 meters. Holotype: MUSM 33715. Paratypes: AMNH 248884 (10); CAS 227893 (10); FMNH 118274 (10); MCP 43880 (10); MCZ 168419 (10); MUSM 33714 (40, 4 c&s); MZUSP 103035 (10). Plus non-type specimens. Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[17] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Gymnotus chaviro Maxime & Albert 2009 -- (Milhomem et al. 2012:804 [ref. 31815], Ferraris et al. 2017:[17] [ref. 35236], Craig et al. 2018:118 [ref. 35904]). Current status: Valid as Gymnotus chaviro Maxime & Albert 2009. Gymnotidae. Distribution: Ucayali River and Madre de Dios River basins, Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
