Plus photographs of specimens not captured. •Valid as Octocynodon zulu (Randall & King 2010) -- (Kuiter 2010:275 [ref. 35285]). •Valid as Hemicoris zulu (Randall & King 2010) -- (Near et al. 2025:309 [ref. 42466]). •Valid as Halichoeres zulu Randall & King 2010 -- (Parenti & Randall 2011:35 [ref. 31299], Randall & Victor 2022:211 [ref. 39916]). Current status: Valid as Halichoeres zulu Randall & King 2010. Labridae: Julidinae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) to Madagascar. IUCN (2025): Not Assessed. Habitat: marine.
