Holotype: MUSM 30409. Paratypes: many at ANSP, AUM, CUMV, UF, MUSM, USNM. Plus non-type specimens. Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[15] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Sternarchorhynchus stewarti de Santana & Vari 2010 -- (Barriga Salazar 2014:116 [ref. 35745], Ferraris et al. 2017:[15] [ref. 35236], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:21 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Sternarchorhynchus stewarti de Santana & Vari 2010. Apteronotidae: Apteronotinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon basin (Ecuador and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
