Current status: Valid as Smilosicyopus pentecost (Keith, Lord & Taillebois 2010). Oxudercidae: Sicydiinae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific: New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fijia and Samoa [amphidromous]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
