Paratypes: UFRJ 6714 (9), 6715 (2 males, 2 females c&s) •Valid as Melanorivulus jalapensis (Costa 2010) -- (Costa 2011:241 [ref. 31655], Costa 2012:58 [ref. 32069], Costa et al. 2015:32 [ref. 33784], Nielsen & Pinto 2015:137 [ref. 33903], Costa et al. 2016:270 [ref. 35405], Costa 2017:64 [ref. 35046]). Current status: Valid as Melanorivulus jalapensis (Costa 2010). Rivulidae: Rivulinae. Distribution: Sono River drainage, Tocantins River basin, central Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
