Current status: Valid as Psalidodon bifasciatus (Garavello & Sampaio 2010). Acestrorhamphidae: Acestrorhamphinae. Distribution: South America: Rio Iguaçu basin and upper Ruio Paraná basin (Brazil and Argentina). Habitat: freshwater.
