Holotype: MCZ 161017. Paratypes: BMNH 2003.4.23.51 (1); CAS 223102 (1); SIO 77-171 (1). Plus one non-type juvenile. •Synonym of Pseudoscopelus scriptus Lütken 1892 -- (Prokofiev 2011:7132 [ref. 31701] based on the holotype). •Valid as Pseudoscopelus cordilluminatus Melo 2010 -- (Prokofiev 2014:650 [ref. 34633], Sutton et al. 2020:288 [ref. 37832], Eduardo et al. 2022:10 [ref. 39574], Mincarone et al. 2022:[9] [ref. 39411]). Current status: Valid as Pseudoscopelus cordilluminatus Melo 2010. Chiasmodontidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: northeastern Brazil; eastern Atlantic: Guinea. Habitat: marine.
