M.] & Camelier [P.] 2010:772, Figs. 1-4 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 8 (no. 4); ref. 31077] Rio Brumado, at Ponte do Coronel, rio de Contas drainage, 13°29'37.0"S, 41°52'0.6"W, Rio de Contas Municipality, Bahia, Brazil. Holotype: MZUSP 101246. Paratypes: MZUSP 105730 (5); UFBA 4340 (13, 1 c&s), 4341 (22, 2 c&s). •Valid as Hyphessobrycon brumado Zanata & Camelier 2010 -- (Carvalho & Langeani 2013:526 [ref. 32913], Dagosta et al. 2014:366 [ref. 33382], Marinho et al. 2016:519 [ref. 34591], Silva et al. 2020:6 [ref. 37809]). Current status: Valid as Hyphessobrycon brumado Zanata & Camelier 2010. Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: Rio Brumado, tributary of the rio Contas (eastern Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
