Holotype: CI-FML 3955. Paratypes: many at CI-FML. •Valid as Heptapterus qenqo Aguilera, Mirande & Azpelicueta 2011 -- (Azpelicueta et al. 2011:326 [ref. 31489], Koerber 2014:6 [ref. 33621], Mirande & Koerber 2015:34 [ref. 35117], Aguilera et al. 2017:579 [ref. 35499], Faustino-Fuster et al. 2019:371 [ref. 36604], Deprá et al. 2022:330 [ref. 39580]). Current status: Valid as Heptapterus qenqo Aguilera, Mirande & Azpelicueta 2011. Heptapteridae: Heptapterinae. Distribution: Salí-Dulce River basin, northwestern Argentina. Habitat: freshwater.
