Current status: Valid as Acanthopagrus pacificus Iwatsuki, Kume & Yoshino 2010. Sparidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Ryukyu Islands, Vietnam to northern Australia (and one specimen from New Zealand). Habitat: marine.
