Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[20] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Gymnotus tiquie Maxime, Lima & Albert 2011 -- (Milhomem et al. 2012:804 [ref. 31815], Rangel-Pereira 2014:170 [ref. 33401], Ferraris et al. 2017:[20] [ref. 35236], Craig et al. 2019:68 [ref. 37060] in subgenus Lamontianus, Bogotá-Gregory et al. 2020:1400 [ref. 37878], Kim et al. 2020:482 [ref. 37696]). Current status: Valid as Gymnotus tiquie Maxime, Lima & Albert 2011. Gymnotidae: Gymnotinae. Distribution: South America: tributaries of Rio Tiquié, upper Rio Negro basin (Brazil and Colombia). Habitat: freshwater.
