Current status: Valid as Hisonotus notopagos Carvalho & Reis 2011. Loricariidae: Hypoptopomatinae. Distribution: Headwaters of Rio Camaquã drainage, Laguna dos Patos system, southern Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
