Holotype: MCNG 55347. Paratypes (7): ANSP 182803 (2), AUM 43872 (2 + 1 c&s), MCNG 55348 (2). •Valid as Soromonichthys stearleyi Lujan & Armbruster 2011 -- (Reis et al. 2016:13 [ref. 34496]). Current status: Valid as Soromonichthys stearleyi Lujan & Armbruster 2011. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Soromoni Creek, tributary to upper Orinoco River, Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
