Paratypes: ANSP 191484 (5); CZCEN 333 (20); MCP 44394 (25 + 3 c&s), 45754 (2). •Valid as Otothyropsis piribebuy Calegari, Lehmann A. & Reis 2011 -- (Caliegari et al. 2012:131 [ref. 32493], Lippert et al. 2014:243 [ref. 33355], Calegari et al. 2017:244 [ref. 35203], Koerber et al. 2017:59 [ref. 35267], Hocama et al. 2020:2 [ref. 37570]). Current status: Valid as Otothyropsis piribebuy Calegari, Lehmann A. & Reis 2011. Loricariidae: Hypoptopomatinae. Distribution: South America: Rio Paraguay basin (Paraguay and Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
