Appeared first electronically in 2011, dates to 2012. Holotype ? KIZ 04100631. •Valid as Triplophysa macrocephala Yang, Wu & Yang 2012 -- (Zheng et al. 2012:835 [ref. 31820] dated 2012, Lin et al. 2012:646 [ref. 32193] with authorship Yang & Wu, Kottelat 2012:128 [ref. 32367], Lan et al. 2013:121, 256 [ref. 32910], Zhang et al. 2016:140 [ref. 34477], Li et al. 2016:[4] [ref. 35021], Liu et al. 2017:844 [ref. 35125], Li et al. 2017:8 [ref. 35551], Wu et al. 2018:73 [ref. 35850], Wu et al. 2018:92 [ref. 35971], Chen et al. 2021:189 [ref. 38191]). Current status: Valid as Triplophysa macrocephala Yang, Wu & Yang 2012. Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Karst cave in Renguang village, Hongshuihe River drainage, upper Pearl River basin, Guangxi, China. Habitat: freshwater.
