Current status: Valid as Pteropsaron longipinnis Allen & Erdmann 2012. Hemerocoetidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Lembata Island and West Papua (Indonesia) east to Mariana Islands, Palau and Fiji. IUCN (2017): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
