T.] 2012:246, Figs. 1-4 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 10 (no. 2); ref. 32031] Rio Xingu basin, rio Culuene (at the former rapids, current area of reservoir Paranatinga 11), 13°51'03"S, 53°15'31"W, Campinãpolis, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Holotype: MZUSP 109765. Paratypes: ANSP 192412 (5), INPA 37075 (5), MCP 46838 (5), MNRJ 39116 (5);ZUSP 91970 (29); NUP 11269 (5), ZUEC 6551 (5). Plus non-type specimens. Type catalog: Oliveira et al. 2022:25 [ref. 39255]. •Valid as Hypostomus kuarup Zawadzki, Kullander & Lima 2012 -- (Zawadzki et al. 2015:57 [ref. 33866]). Current status: Valid as Hypostomus kuarup Zawadzki, Kullander & Lima 2012. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: South America: upper rio Xingu basin (Mato Grosso, Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
