Holotype: UMMZ 232733. Paratypes: many at ANSP, CAS, UMMZ, ZRC. •Valid as Mystus velifer Ng 2012 -- (Kottelat 2013:263 [ref. 32989], Yoshida et al. 2013:46 [ref. 34464], Taki et al. 2021:288 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Mystus velifer Ng 2012. Bagridae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Malay Peninsula to Vietnam (and possibly Sumatra). Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
