A.] 2012:479, Figs. 2d, 3d, 62, 11-13 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 10 (no. 3); ref. 32205] Upper Mazaruni River, near mouth of Kamarang River, 5°51'56.80"N, 60°36'32.076"W, Cuyuni-Mazaruni (Region 7), Guyana. Holotype: UG/CSBD 1688 [ex ROM 89675]. Paratypes: many at ROM. •Valid as Mazarunia pala López-Fernández, Taphorn & Liverpool 2012 -- (Taphorn et al. 2022:33 [ref. 41297]). Current status: Valid as Mazarunia pala López-Fernández, Taphorn & Liverpool 2012. Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: South America: upper Mazaruni River (Guyana) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
