C.] 2013:16, Figs. 10-12 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 11 (no. 1); ref. 32698] Itajibá, rio Gongogi, tributary of rio de Contas, 14°21'16.5"S, 39°46'23.9"W, Bahia, Brazil. Holotype: MZUSP 105166. Paratypes: Many at ANSP, UFBA, MZUSP. •Valid as Megaleporinus brinco (Birindelli, Britski & Garavello 2013) -- (Ramirez et al. 2017:312 [ref. 34945], Birindelli et al. 2020:8 [ref. 37400], Silva et al. 2020:4 [ref. 37809]). Current status: Valid as Megaleporinus brinco (Birindelli, Britski & Garavello 2013). Anostomidae. Distribution: South America: Rio de Contas drainage (Bahia, Brazil) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
