Paratypes: BMNH 1951.1.16.555 (1), 1951.1.16.556 (1); MNHN 2006-1700 (1); NMW 95080 (1); OMNH 39984 (1), 39986 (1), 39990 (1); Plus additional non-type specimens. •Valid as Gobiodon fuscoruber Herler, Bogorodsky & Suzuki 2013 -- (Golani & Fricke 2018:155 [ref. 36273], Larson 2022:97 [ref. 39971], Bogorodsky & Goren 2023:15 [ref. 40247], Parenti 2021:169 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Gobiodon fuscoruber Herler, Bogorodsky & Suzuki 2013. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: Maldives; Ryukyu Islands (Japan). Habitat: marine.
