Holotype: MZUSP 111500. Paratypes: ANSP, MCP, MZUSP. UFBA. •Valid as Astyanax hamatilis Camelier & Zanata 2014 -- (Marinho et al. 2015:576 [ref. 33708], Bertaco & Vigo 2015:270 [ref. 33857], Zanata et al. 2017:508 [ref. 35145], Zanata et al. 2018:486 [ref. 35984], Silva et al. 2020:5 [ref. 37809]). •Valid as Deuterodon hamatilis (Camelier & Zanata 2014) -- (Terán et al. 2020:7 [ref. 37440], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:38 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Deuterodon hamatilis (Camelier & Zanata 2014). Acestrorhamphidae: Stygichthyinae. Distribution: South America: upper Rio Paraguaçu basin, Bahia (Brazil) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
