Type catalog: Ferraris et al. 2017:[8] [ref. 35236]. •Valid as Apteronotus pemon de Santana & Vari 2013 -- (Ferraris et al. 2017:[8] [ref. 35236]). Current status: Valid as Apteronotus pemon de Santana & Vari 2013. Apteronotidae: Apteronotinae. Distribution: Upper Río Caroni basin, Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
