H.] 2014:44, Figs. 1-3 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 12 (no. 1); ref. 33227] Mato Grosso State, município de Aripuanã, rio Madeira basin, rio Praia Grande (at its mouth to rio Aripuanã downstream cachoeira Dardanelos and Andorinhas), 10°02’51"S, 59°23’21"W, Brazil. Holotype: INPA 37342. Paratypes: Many, Rio Aripuanã basin: INPA, MNRJ, MZUSP, NUP. Plus non-type specimens. Type catalog: Oliveira et al. 2022:20 [ref. 39255]. •Valid as Hypostomus dardanelos Zawadzki & Carvalho 2014 -- (Tencatt et al. 2014:601 [ref. 33520]). Current status: Valid as Hypostomus dardanelos Zawadzki & Carvalho 2014. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: South America: Rio Aripuanã basin (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
