Holotype: UFRJ 9449. Paratypes: BMNH 2013.6.23.5-6 (2), UFRJ, ZFMK. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Cynolebias parietalis Costa 2014. Current status: Valid as Cynolebias parietalis Costa 2014. Rivulidae: Cynolebiinae. Distribution: Temporary pool near Gordo Bravo, São Francisco River Basin, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
