Paratypes: RMNH PISC 36422 (1), 36423 (1), 32464 (1), 37992 (1), BPBM 41113 (2). •Valid as Upeneus nigromarginatus Bos 2014 -- (Uiblein & White 2015:52 [ref. 33856], Echreshavi et al. 2022:20 [ref. 39234], Uiblein et al. 2025:476 [ref. 42347]). Current status: Valid as Upeneus nigromarginatus Bos 2014. Mullidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Philippines, southeast Indonesia and east Papua New Guinea. Habitat: marine.
