Paratypes: IUQ 3225 (9), 3772 (2 C&S), 3229 (17), 3691 (1), 3723 (14). •Synonym of Hemibrycon caucanus (Eigenmann 1913) -- (García-Melo et al. 2019:10 [ref. 36761], Bertaco 2024:166 [ref. 40817]). •Valid as Bryconamericus caldasi Román-Valencia, Ruiz-C., Taphorn & García-Alzate 2014 -- (DoNascimiento et al. 2017:59 [ref. 35633]). Current status: Uncertain as Bryconamericus caldasi Román-Valencia, Ruiz-C., Taphorn & García-Alzate 2014. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: middle Cauca River basin, Caldas, Colombia [if valid]. Habitat: freshwater.
