Paratypes: UFBA, MZUSP. •Valid as Characidium kamakan Zanata & Camelier 2015 -- (Malanski et al. 2019:11 [ref. 36865], Silva et al. 2020:7 [ref. 37809], Oliveira-Silva et al. 2024:6 [ref. 41256], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:40 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Characidium kamakan Zanata & Camelier 2015. Crenuchidae: Characidiinae. Distribution: South America: Rio Pardo basin, Bahia State (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
