Species epithet once spelled succedanaus in title of English translation, otherwise succedaneus. •Valid as Melamphaes succedaneus Kotlyar 2015 -- (Kotlyar 2016:22 [ref. 34170], Kotlyar 2016:388 [ref. 35038], Kimura et al. 2019:90 [ref. 37116]). Current status: Valid as Melamphaes succedaneus Kotlyar 2015. Melamphaidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: off California (U.S.A.) south to off Chile; questionably northeast of Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.). Habitat: marine.
