Current status: Valid as Macrhybopsis tomellerii Gilbert & Mayden 2017. Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: Eastern North America: Pearl and Pascagoula river drainages of Mississippi and southeastern Louisiana (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
