Holotype: CZUT-IC 1986. Paratypes: CZUT-IC; ICNMHN 16391 (1); IMCN. Type catalog: Mojica & Agudelo-Zamora 2018:48 [ref. 36127]. •Valid as Pimelodus crypticus Villa-Navarro & Cala 2017 -- (DoNascimiento et al. 2017:94 [ref. 35633], Martínez et al. 2022:3 [ref. 39275], Filho et al. 2024:4 [ref. 40919]). Current status: Valid as Pimelodus crypticus Villa-Navarro & Cala 2017. Pimelodidae. Distribution: South America: upper Cauca River drainage (Cauca, Colombia). Habitat: freshwater.
