J.], Moelants [T.] & Snoeks [J.] in Moelants, Snoeks & Vreven 2018:187, Figs. 9-10 [Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwaters v. 28 (no. 2); ref. 35738] Lukoshi River above and below rapids of Mukanda or Kamakamaka, Lulua subbasin, approximately 14.5 km in a straight line SSW of Kasaji, Democratic Republic of Congo, 10°30'44"S, 23°23'08"E. Holotype: MRAC B2-030-P-1389. Paratypes: AMNH, MCZ, MRAC, ZSM. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Distichodus kasaiensis Vreven, Moelants & Snoeks 2018 -- (Abwe et al. 2019:93 [ref. 36905], Munene et al. 2021:22 [ref. 39283], Musschoot 2024:336 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Distichodus kasaiensis Vreven, Moelants & Snoeks 2018. Distichodontidae. Distribution: Central Africa: Congo River basin (Democratic Republic of Congo). Habitat: freshwater.
