Holotype: MZUSP 89567. Paratypes: MCP, MNRJ, MZUSP, NUP, UFBA. Type catalog: Oliveira et al. 2022:6 [ref. 39255]. •Valid as Astyanax rupestris Zanata, Burger & Camelier 2018 -- (Burger et al. 2019:377 [ref. 36718], Zanata et al. 2019:8 [ref. 37072], Silva et al. 2020:5 [ref. 37809], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:37 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Astyanax rupestris Zanata, Burger & Camelier 2018. Acestrorhamphidae: Acestrorhamphinae. Distribution: South America: Cumbuca and Piaba River drainages, upper Rio Paraguaçu basin, Bahia (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
