Current status: Valid as Rhinogobius tyoni Suzuki, Kimura & Shibukawa 2019. Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: inland waters in temperate Japan, along the coasts of Seto Inland Sea, Osaka Bay and Kii Channel, and Maruyama-gawa River drainage, Hyogo Prefecture; introduced elsewhere in Japan. Habitat: freshwater.
