Holotype: INPA 57879. Paratypes: ANSP, INPA, LIA, UFOPA, ZUEC. The adjective would be rheoruber if combined with a masculine genus. •Valid as Bryconops rheoruber Silva-Oliveira, Sabaj Pérez, Ota, Rapp Py-Daniel 2019 -- (Silva-Oliveira & Lima 2024:375 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Bryconops rheoruber Silva-Oliveira, Sabaj Pérez, Ota, Rapp Py-Daniel 2019. Iguanodectidae. Distribution: South America: Xingu River basin, Pará State, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
