Paratypes: ROM, UMMZ. •Valid as Myloplus taphorni Andrade, López-Fernández & Liverpool 2019. •Valid as Paramyloplus taphorni (Andrade, López-Fernández & Liverpool 2019) -- (Kolmann et al. 2020:11 [ref. 37721], Ota et al. 2024:418 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Paramyloplus taphorni (Andrade, López-Fernández & Liverpool 2019). Serrasalmidae: Myleinae. Distribution: South America: Mazaruni River drainage, Essequibo basin, Guyana. Habitat: freshwater.
