Paratypes: BMNH 1980.6.13.1 (1); BPBM 19894 (1), 20842 (1), 21505 (1); SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 462 (1); USNM 223879 (1). •Valid as Scarus genazonatus Randall & Bruce 1983 -- (Dor 1984:215 [ref. 29757], Goren & Dor 1994:56 [ref. 25356]). •Valid as Chlorurus genazonatus (Randall & Bruce 1983) -- (Bellwood 1994:66 [ref. 19116], Parenti & Randall 2000:52 [ref. 24943], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S115 [ref. 27377], Bogorodsky & Randall 2018:[16] 254 [ref. 36492], Golani & Fricke 2018:131 [ref. 36273]). Current status: Valid as Chlorurus genazonatus (Randall & Bruce 1983). Scaridae: Scarinae. Distribution: Red Sea, northwestern Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden. Habitat: marine.
