Holotype: CSIRO H1159-16. Paratypes: AMS, CSIRO, NMV. Plus additional non-type material. Erroneously called australis in the abstract. •Valid as Lestidium nigrirostrum Ho, Graham & Russell 2020. Current status: Valid as Lestidium nigrirostrum Ho, Graham & Russell 2020. Paralepididae. Distribution: Off eastern Australia, from the Coral Sea to Bass Strait and Tasman Sea, Indo-West Pacific. Habitat: marine.
