Current status: Valid as Careproctus ambustus Orr 2020. Liparidae. Distribution: North Pacific: western North Pacific from northwestern coast of Honshu (Japan), northern Kuril Islands and southeastern Kamchatka north to Bering Sea; eastern North Pacific from British Columbia off central Vancouver Island, throughout the Gulf of Alaska (U.S.A.) and Aleutian Islands into the Bering Sea.
