Holotype: MZUSP 118566. Paratypes: MZUSP. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Characidium nambiquara Zanata & Ohara 2020. Current status: Valid as Characidium nambiquara Zanata & Ohara 2020. Crenuchidae: Characidiinae. Distribution: South America: upper Guaporé River drainage, Madeira River basin, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
