Holotype: MPUJ 14918 [ex 9936]. Paratypes: IAVHP, MPUJ. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Chaetostoma chimu Urbano-Bonilla & Ballen 2021. Current status: Valid as Chaetostoma chimu Urbano-Bonilla & Ballen 2021. Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Upper Meta and Guaviare River drainages, Andean foothills of the Orinoco basin, Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
