Holotype: CSIRO H8289-02. Paratypes: AMS, CSIRO, NMV, NTM, WAM. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Plectranthias ferrugineus Gill, Pogonoski, Moore & Johnson 2021 -- (Koeda et al. 2021:[7] [ref. 38721], Anderson 2022:570 [ref. 39757], Gloerfelt-Tarp & Kailola 2022:147 [ref. 41223], Allen & Erdmann 2024:309 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Plectranthias ferrugineus Gill, Pogonoski, Moore & Johnson 2021. Anthiadidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: Northwest Shelf (Western Australia) to Arafura Sea (Northern Territory, Australia). Habitat: marine.
