Holotype: USNM 218035. Paratypes: CAS, USNM, UW. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Eviota marerubrum Tornabene, Greenfield & Erdmann 2021 -- (Bogorodsky & Goren 2023:12 [ref. 40247], Shen et al. 2024:36 [ref. 41737]). Current status: Valid as Eviota marerubrum Tornabene, Greenfield & Erdmann 2021. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Red Sea endemic. Habitat: marine.
