Holotype: PNM 15649. Paratypes: PNM, ZRC. •Valid as Barbodes pyrpholeos Tan & Husana 2021 -- (Lamandre 2023:165 [ref. 40455]). Current status: Valid as Barbodes pyrpholeos Tan & Husana 2021. Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Karstic cave systems, Mindanao (Philippines) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
