Holotype: MNRJ 22928. Paratypes: MNRJ 22921 (9), MNRJ 22928 (12). •Valid as Astyanax pardensis Salgado 2021 -- (Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:37 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Astyanax pardensis Salgado 2021. Acestrorhamphidae: Acestrorhamphinae. Distribution: South America: Das Contas and Pardo River basins (eastern Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
