E.] 2022:79, Figs. 1-3a [Zootaxa 5129 (no. 1); ref. 39207] Aguarico River near Puerto Loja, Napo River system, Orellana Province, Ecuador, approximately 00°52'57"N, 75°13'30"W [coordinates probably not entirely correct]. Holotype: MEPN 17903. Paratype: MEPN 19491 (1). Named after a woman, the correct species epithet would be almendarizae. •Valid as Pseudohemiodon almendarizi Provenzano, Argüello & Barriga Salazar 2022. Current status: Valid as Pseudohemiodon almendarizi Provenzano, Argüello & Barriga Salazar 2022. Loricariidae: Loricariinae. Distribution: South America: Aguarico River drainage, Napo River system, western Amazon basin, Orellana Province, Ecuador. Habitat: freshwater.
