Holotype: MRAC 2019.008.P.0012. Paratypes: MNCN, MRAC. Spelled montealenensis in Tables 4 and 5. •Valid as Aphyosemion montealenense (Malumbres, Sonnenberg & van der Zee 2022). Current status: Valid as Aphyosemion montealenense (Malumbres, Sonnenberg & van der Zee 2022). Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: West Central Africa: southeast of Monte Alén, central Equatorial Guinea. Habitat: freshwater.
