B.], Buckmaster [N.] & Su [Y.-X.] 2023:529, Figs. 1, 4D [Zootaxa 5249 (no. 5); ref. 40044] Bear Creek at Pondosa Bridge, 1.6 km southwest of Pondosa, Siskiyou County, California, 41.1884°N, -121.700667°W. Holotype: WFB 3171. Paratypes: WFB 3171a-i (9). •Synonym of Rhinichthys klamathensis (Evermann & Meek 1898), but a valid subspecies as described. Current status: Synonym of Rhinichthys klamathensis (Evermann & Meek 1898). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: North America: Goose Lake (Oregon and California), Pit River watersheds, Sacramento River drainage, Salinas, San Luis Obispo Creek, Arroyo Grande and Santa Maria River basins, California and Oregon, U.S.A. [this subspecies]. Habitat: freshwater.
